A little over a year ago, I wrote a blog post reflecting on my 23rd year of life as it came to a close and I turned 24. I shared the struggles that I encountered around my 23rd birthday a year ago along with the activities, organizations, and people that helped to re-center me after a rough emotional time. While they each played an important role in bringing me back to my normal self, the authors and teachers of different motivational books and podcasts (who I refer to as my virtual mentors) were some of my most treasured resources.

Time, Energy, and Hands

It’s Friday afternoon and there have been dirty dishes in the sink in all week long. These dirty dishes have taunted me as I ran in and out of the house all week. In from work, out for small group. In from work, out for a movie premier. In from work, out to a fictional world (via the pages of a book) while tucked in bed with a cup of tea. I just haven’t been able to shake these dishes in the sink.

The truth about that greener grass

Spoiler Alert if you haven’t seen the latest installment of the Divergent movie series, Allegiant (or read the books). I got a bit of inspiration from it when I saw it for Cheap Ticket Tuesday yesterday with my sis and cousin. I got to see a movie in theaters for $6.71! My mother did not delay in reminding me of a grand ol’ time when that was the standard price for movies, but I digress.
